Ref Junkies Academy

Ref Junkies Academy is a non-profit organization devoted to recruiting, teaching, evaluating and mentoring basketball officials at all levels. Our mission is to provide ongoing training along with opportunities for officials to excel and achieve their goals while delivering the best experience for the athletes and fans. Ref Junkies Academy trains officials today for tomorrow’s competitions, equipping future leaders to be successful on and off the court and in the community.

Ref Junkies Academy officially (pun intended) started in 2022 when four basketball refs decided to put their efforts together to provide consistent recruiting, training and mentoring of officials in the Louisville area. The Love and Passion each has for the game made them Ref Junkies before it was a term. RJA reason for existence is to provide the path to becoming a sports official along with continuing support to improve upon the officiating craft. Everything we do will be in an attempt to strive for excellence both on and off the court. RJA teaches officials today for tomorrow’s competitions, equipping future leaders ( men and women) to be successful on the court and in the community.
