I’m a good fit for clients seeking a therapist who listens with compassion but also provides direct, personalized feedback. My style is interactive and collaborative. Clients willing to be challenged and pushed toward change will benefit most from our work together. My goal is to help you resolve long-term issues, achieve self-understanding, and become stronger and more confident. I specialize in family of origin issues, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, trauma, recognizing abusive people, reducing anxiety, and overcoming compulsive behaviors, helping you cultivate a life worth living. My approach is informed by a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspective, and I’m currently training in ISTDP. I also draw from the person-centered tradition, which means I’ll validate your strengths and innate ability to thrive. Our work may also incorporate elements of motivational interviewing, SFT, ACT, DBT, CBT, positive psychology, and mindfulness. I am LGBTQIA-affirming and poly/kink-affirming. I am always striving for cultural humility in my practice and recognize the reality of many kinds of oppression, including racial, class, gender, sexuality, religious, immigration status, disability, and body shape/size, among others.
