I am experienced in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and struggle w/ depression and anxiety symptoms. I have completed extensive research regarding PTSD and depression in African American men and am comfortable working with any population and gender. Clients should come to see me because I work to understand their behavior as individuals in the context of the systems we exist within, whether they be work, school, family, or community.

I will ask questions, explore themes, emotions, and how you processed life events. Asking the right questions helps clients learn more about themselves. I provide a non-judgmental space but will always share my honest thoughts. Clients can expect periodic homework assignments to practice and reinforce the skills learned in therapy sessions in real life.

There are times in our lives when it’s helpful to alleviate acute anxiety or sadness by having someone to vent to. My clinical style focuses on listening, but more importantly, understanding my client. I take pride in making sure that my clients feel heard and understood during our sessions. We will tackle life challenges in a safe and supportive space.
