First off, thank you for being brave enough to take this first step in this journey! Navigating life at any age often brings challenges that are unpredictable, leaving a need of searching for belonging. I believe you deserve to feel confident in your inherent worth and that you belong—always. In the queer community, therapeutic supports are most important and vital for survival. Intersectionality can be beautiful but also lead to loneliness when there is a lack of similarity of your identity around you. As a queer woman of color and as a therapist, I understand the importance of having a space where you can be your truest self. Finding our own path, understanding who we are, and accepting ourselves can help us grow. In addition to narrative therapy, I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you stay present and recognize that you are enough as you are. Each session will offer practical skills you can use for your healing, with a clear plan of action to work together. I love to celebrate what interests you have that make you feel most yourself. Whether that’s through movies, musicals, anime, or even memes (and 10 house points to Hufflepuff if you bring me a therapy meme I haven’t seen before)! I am genuinely excited to meet you and begin this journey together!
