Kierkegaard stated, “the most common form of despair is not being who you are.” Whether you experience this as anxiety, depression, a sense of being “thrown” into the world, stress, or some murky, unnamable thing, it’s daunting to not feel like yourself. A lack of support, past trauma, systemic oppression, or societal pressures can result in feeling like it’s either unsafe to be yourself or, in some cases, like you’ve never had the opportunity to even meet the real you. It’s my belief that you are worth knowing, that your story deserves to be heard, & that therapy can be a powerful tool in finding meaningful change. View 4 Photos There’s a story you tell yourself about yourself &, ideally, you write that story in meaningful ways. Your narrative is too important to be written by others’ voices or impacted by behaviors that no longer help. I want your actions & story to serve, fulfill, & help move you toward effectively addressing & managing your world, relationships, work, & life. My work is rooted in existential, narrative, & intersectional therapies, using evidence-based practice for effective, tailored therapy. I combine levity & client-led irreverence to create a safe, productive space. I’m good at what I do; the real question is whether I’m a good fit for your needs. I look forward to hearing from you & exploring that question.
