I enjoy working with people from a variety of cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Women’s issues have always been a topic of concern for me, especially related to abuse, domestic violence, harassment, unhealthy relationships, low self-esteem, and excess stress. My work with clients who have disabilities is very important to me also. These individuals need to be heard, validated and provided with assistance in getting past anger, shame, guilt, sadness, and confusion. My approach is flexible and based on the preferences and unique circumstances of each client. I use various methods such as challenging and re-framing negative thoughts, teaching skills for coping and communication, while helping clients learn to accept things that cannot be changed, but empowering and encouraging them to change whatever needs fixing. I believe that counseling is a process where each client should feel supported, valued and able to freely discuss their challenges, frustrations, and uncertainties without fear of being judged. I strive to make this a reality for every client I meet. Please call or email me so we can begin working on improving the issues affecting the quality of your life.
