I am certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional and the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modality. My approach is influenced by polyvagal theory that understands trauma from a cognitive/behavioral and psychological perspective. I use DBT tools to help clients cope with the dysregulation that comes with healing the nervous system, as well as interpersonal tools to improve their relationships.

Hello! I’m Musa. I am a psychotherapist with more than 8 years of experience.
​I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC). I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). I am certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional.
I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. After graduating from University High School in June of 2008, I attended Rutgers University-New Brunswick from the Fall of 2008 to the Winter of 2012, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology.
After a 2-year hiatus, I enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at Rutgers-Newark in the Fall of 2015 and graduated in May of 2017 with a MSW degree and certificate in Management and Policy.
Before starting my own private practice in 2020, I worked at a residential re-entry facility, mental health day program, and two medication-assisted treatment clinics.
Lately, my focus has been on helping clients address different types of trauma.
